Chuck Vegás stops by Puddles of Myself to once again provide his insight and expertise into his top video choice of the week.
Last week I mentioned that I prefer videos that feature animals, but that I was going to make a concerted effort to explore novel territory in these installments. But along came Skifcha the cat. "Stereo Skifcha" is a piece that mixes the most familiar and successful elements of the animal genre - anthropomorphism, music, licking, etc - but does so in a highly irregular and unusual fashion. This piece is an excellent execution of the uncanny: it utilizes familiar structure and composition, yet leaves us a little uncomfortable, both simultaneously intrigued and repulsed.
